Swayambhu Manu and Satarupa

According to 
  1. Padma Puraana, 
  2. Raamaayan and 
  3. Raamcharith Maanas 
the first man Swayambhu Manu and Sathroopa performed penance to obtain God as their son and were granted the boon.
